Classic Rock U with Adam Reader

With a passion for understanding the heart, soul and behind-the-scenes details from the most iconic stars, YouTube superstar, Adam Reader, also known as the Professor of Rock, allows musicians the opportunity to share never-told-before stories and relive their most favorite memories.

Classic Rock U is merges Classic Rock hits with Adam’s captivating interviews, connecting Rock ‘N’ Roll’s biggest fans and the greatest talents of all time on one united platform.

Adam Reader has been interviewing artists for over 10 years, with nearly 700 in-depth interviews from legendary talents including Journey, Heart, Def Leppard, the Doobie Brothers, Foreigner, Sammy Hagar, and his lifelong hero, Brian Wilson. Reader’s passion developed from stories shared by his father, Steve, about his favorite songs, and he eventually turned his passion into the daily YouTube show, Professor of Rock. He was given his Professor title by the Beach Boys, which quickly stuck with additional artists after they witnessed the heart and soul of music and storytelling that was showcased in his interviews. Outside of his obsession with all things music, Reader loves collecting vinyl and rock t-shirts, biking, reading, discovering new restaurants and spending time with his wife, Leslie, and their four children.

Woody & Wilcox

All about breaking out of the normal expectations of the typical mornings show, Woody & Wilcox have two key ingredients, a lack of personal privacy, and the lack of sleep. It is a winning combination that leads to comedy. Not comedy in the sense of just laughing. This is comedy that makes you laugh, think, and be grateful you’re not like Woody. Born on opposite sides of the country and typically on the opposite sides of most discussions is what makes Woody & Wilcox different and what makes it work. Woody is from LA. Wilcox is from DC. They joined forces in San Diego in 2003, and the rest is history.

Randy Jordan

RJ has made the rounds across the 48 contiguous states, in hopes of finding that perfect radio job. At the age of (insert guess here) he’s realized nothing is perfect, but his passion for radio is why he is here doing what he loves.

Lulu

Lu Valentino, or as her friends call her, “Lulu” grew up in a large 1st generation Italian family in Northern New Jersey. Her BF is her 3lb 14-year-old adopted Yorkie named Cherish. When she’s not on the air, she spends time mountain biking, decorating her home, (while listening to her vinyl collection) swimming, and cooking delicious vegan meals from her sister Celeste’s recipes. Connect with Lulu @luvalentino on Twitter!

More Music in the Morning with Ed Trefzger

Morning show host Ed Trefzger is also the general manager at Classic Rock 93.9 and its sister station WDNY, and has been with the company that owns the two radio stations (Genesee Media) since 2013. Ed’s love of radio goes back to when he would tune in distant stations late at night and transmit from a Radio Shack kit in the basement when he was a kid. Since then, he’s been heard on (at last count) eight different stations in our area and is the longtime play-by-play voice of RIT men’s hockey at his alma mater. He brought classic rock to 93.9 in December 2017. Ed also is a live sound and recording engineer (mostly retired) and has worn many different hats in his career (though obviously not in this photo). Reach out to Ed at ed@classicrock939.com.

Mud

My name is Mud! No, not Primus’ “My Name is Mud”… I’m the original Mud! Married, one kid, one 9-pound Poodle, a self-proclaimed foodie, ice cream-aholic, Chinese food aficionado, Italian and Indian food lover, coffee swiller, music-lover and an obsessed New York Mets fan! I grew up in the New York metropolitan area and made my way down to Miami, Florida to attend The University of Miami. After graduation, I took the show to a tiny New Jersey town where I was named Mud because of my strong coffee brew and addiction to the java.

Classic Rock Live

The concert experience continues to be part of every music fans’ lives. It is because of that passion for music that Pierre Robert created Classic Rock Live. This program allows listeners to hear live recordings and reminisce by offering the best songs, from prolific bands, captured from different eras.

Peoples’ listening habits have changed; very few people will sit and listen to an hour of just one band in the internet era. With segments like, “Unreleased Live” and “Wish You Were There,” Classic Rock Live truly delivers a unique listening experience. Unlike all the “live concert” shows of the past that played an hour of one artist, the program will deliver hit after hit, from a variety of classic rock artists in a weekly, two-hour show.

About Pierre Robert

After establishing himself at one of the nation’s first progressive rock stations, KSAN in San Francisco, Pierre Robert traveled east to begin what has become a 29 year run on heritage rock station 93.3 WMMR-FM in Philadelphia. WMMR itself is a rock n’ roll radio survivor having now been a vital part of the Philly music scene playing a balance of both new and veteran rock bands for over 42 years without changing formats.

‘MMR is one of the few remaining stations in the United States that is owned by a relatively small, family operated company (Greater Media) and still broadcasts live and local, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Pierre is an integral part of the unique chemistry that exists within the air staff at ‘MMR. His laid-back and friendly on-air style and his ongoing commitment to a variety of local charities speaks to each listener in a one-on-one, very personal way. His vast knowledge of all styles of music has allowed a wide variety of artists, ranging from The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bono, STP, Rush, The Pretenders, Foo Fighters, The Offspring, and Robert Plant among many others to feel quite comfortable in his interviews. This plus his constant presence on the concert scene at venues ranging from the smallest clubs to the largest stadiums (to cover and report on shows) has helped keep him number 1 in mid-days for years.
