U2 has shared another remix of their latest single, “Atomic City,” this time by Dutch producer/DJ Tiësto
The remix is the third new take on the song U2 has released. They previously shared remixes from David Guetta and Mike WiLL Made-It.

U2 released “Atomic City” in September just ahead of the launch of their U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency in Las Vegas, which they wrapped in March after 40 shows. It was accompanied by a video shot on Vegas’ Fremont Street, the same location where they shot the video for “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” back in 1987.
Daryl Hall’s latest solo album, D, is out now, and he tells Billboardit’s a “very personal” album.
“The album is a complete thought,” he says, “and we organized the songs to go through a journey with it.” He adds, “We didn’t write the songs with that in mind, but when we realized what we had we put it together into a story, in a progression.”
The new solo album comes as Hall and partner John Oates have pretty much put an end to their relationship, with Hall filing a lawsuit when Oates tried to sell his half of their publishing. Both sides have since said it’s doubtful we’ll ever seen Hall & Oates together again.
“John and I did not have a creative relationship for decades,” Hall shares. “We toured and we toured and we toured, and it was very restrictive to me, and to John.” He adds, “The real truth of it all is John just said one day he didn’t want to do it anymore. I said ‘OK,’ but the problem is (Oates) didn’t make the parting and breakup easy, and that’s where the difficulties lay and still lay, and that’s all it is.”
Now, Hall is welcoming the opportunity to truly be out on his own.
“I always say I’ve been a solo artist my whole life, I was just working with John, mostly,” he says. “I can’t speak for John ’cause I haven’t spoken to him in a long, long time, but I think that’s how he feels, too. And good on both of us.”
He adds, “I can still play all the songs that I wrote over the years, under my own name as well as under the Hall & Oates name. It frees me, really. It frees me up.”
While Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page are often thought of as rock’s best guitarists, Ted Nugent has some differing opinions.
In an interview with Forbes, The Nuge shares that he believes ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons rivals the trio with his playing.
“Even as subtle as Billy Gibbons is, he does Beck, Clapton and Page better than Beck, Clapton and Page, as far as I’m concerned,” he says.
Nugent describes Beck, Clapton and Page as “okay,” acknowledging they are “top dogs,” but, notes, “they’re no better than Jim McCarty from Cactus and Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.”
He adds The Yardbirds, the band Beck, Clapton and Page played in together, “were intensely influential to any guitarist who’s ever lived. But they’re no Jimi Hendrix or Eddie Van Halen.”
Asked why he thinks the trio get such accolades, Nugent shares, “Mostly because songs have a vastly more powerful impact on music lovers than individual instrumentalists do. The songs from The Yardbirds, and Clapton with Cream, are propelled almost solely by guitar lines. In three-piece groups like Cream, each member delivers equal impact, but the guitar is the theme of the song.”
E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt is the subject of the new documentary Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple, premieringJune 22 on HBO and streaming on Max.
Of course, the film delves into his work with Bruce Springsteen, and Van Zandt tells ABC Audio that director Bill Teck gives fans some new insight into the beginnings of their lifelong friendship and partnership.
“Bill really tells the story of those early Asbury days in a little bit more detailed way than most people even know,” Stevie shares. “And I think that’s going to be exciting for the fans before we even get into my other lives.”
The film features interviews with Van Zandt’s fellow musicians, including Springsteen, Eddie Vedder and JacksonBrowne, and Teck says they were all eager to participate.
“People had been waiting, like, their whole lives to talk about Stevie,” he says. “Like you could tell that people knew, you know, how much of a story there was. … They wanted to be part of telling it.”
The film also delves into Van Zandt’s career as an activist, music historian and more, some things people may not be aware of, and Van Zandt says he hopes the doc helps bring his work “to a larger audience.”
“That’s the nice thing about film, you know, it can find a way to tell the story and all these things you don’t have to categorize necessarily,” he says.
And while fans will certainly learn a lot about Stevie watching the doc, they won’t be the ones getting an education.
“I hope it explains my life to me,” Van Zandt jokes. “Because it doesn’t make any sense, really. You know, I was just following things according to my instinct and wherever it went.”
The Kinks’ Dave Davies is upset that someone is trying to auction off his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame statue.
After seeing the listing, Davies took to social media to let people know that he did not approve of the sale.
“Regarding ebay listing for my RRHOF award statue has been made without my consent,” he wrote. “I lost track of my award years ago and didn’t know where it was. If the person bought it at a storage unit it may have been [around] the time of my 2004 stroke when I was incapacitated.”
He noted that he has since made a full recovery from his stroke and is upset nobody contacted him about the trophy, sharing, “This auction makes me very sad.”
“We’ve written to the seller and are waiting to hear back,” he concluded. “I don’t want to have to pay 12 grand to get my own award backBut maybe we can work something out more reasonable.”
And it seems the post may have worked. Colony Records, which buys and sells rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia on eBay, replied to Davies’ post, writing, “follow me and shoot me a message on X we will work it out.” Davies replied, “Ok thank you.”
Davies and the rest of The Kinks were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Sammy Hagar took to social media Thursday to wish his bandmate and friend Michael Anthony a happy birthday.
“On this day, a long, long time ago, the world was blessed with this bad a**, bass playing, singing rock ‘n’ roll superstar,” Hagar wrote on Instagram. “Ladies and gentlemen I present to you the one. The only Mr. Michael Anthony.”
In an accompanying video, Hagar called the former Van Halen bassist “my brother from a different mother,” sharing, “I can’t tell you how much I love having you as a friend, having you as a bandmate, a partner in crime.”
“We have more fun than any 10 monkeys on the planet,” he added.
Hagar was dressed in a suit jacket in honor of the occasion, telling Anthony he wanted to be “first class today for you.”
He said he would stay that way all day and would be having a cocktail to celebrate, but when the camera pulled back it revealed Hagar was actually only dressed up from the top up. He was actually wearing pink shorts with palm trees on the bottom, and noted, “Got to get this monkey suit off.”
And Anthony apparently loved the message.
“Hahahaha, thanks, brother, haven’t seen you that dressed up in a long time!!!” he commented. “We’ve been through a lot, and we ain’t finished yet!! I love ya….and I’ll be right over for that birthday cocktail.”

Paramount+ has announced a new docuseries called Nöthin But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of ’80s Hair Metal.
The three-part show features interviews with ’80s metallers including Poison‘s Bret Michaels, Ratt‘s Stephen Pearcy, Extreme‘s Nuno Bettencourt, Skid Row‘s Dave “Snake” Sabo and Headbangers Ball host Riki Rachtman. Additionally, Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor and Jackass’Steve-O will make appearances.
“This docuseries is a celebration of the most outrageous decade in rock ‘n’ roll,” says director Jeff Tremaine, who also helmed the Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt. “It’s my love letter to the ’80s.”
Nöthin But a Good Time, which, of course, includes an umlaut in the title, is based on the 2021 book Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of the ’80s Hard Rock Explosion. A premiere date has yet to be announced.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the German rock band Scorpions, you’ll soon get your chance.
Deadline reports that a Scorpions musical biopic, titled Wind of Change, after their 1991 top-five hit, is in the works from ESX Entertainment.
According to the description, the film will follow three friends – Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine and MatthiasJabs – “whose passion for rock n’ roll fueled their rise from the ashes of post-World War II Germany to the global stardom in the 1980s as the multi-platinum rock band Scorpions.”
“The Scorpions’ music has penetrated our culture in a big way,” producer Ali Afshar tells Deadline. “There is an evocative quality to their sound that is unmatched in the genre, which is one of the reasons hits like ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ and ‘Still Loving You’ continue to get so much airplay and fill movie soundtracks, and their music continues to connect with a new generation of fans across the globe.”
Production on Wind of Change is expected to begin in Europe later this year, with a planned 2025 release, which will also be the band’s 60th anniversary.
