An original white label 7-inch test pressing of Queen’s 1975 classic “Bohemian Rhapsody” sold for close to $12,000 during the annual White Label Auction to benefit the Brit Trust.
White label test pressings are made so artists, managers and labels can listen to the audio ahead of a single’s release. Usually only a few are produced.
This year marked the fifth annual White Label Auction, and prior to this year’s lot the auctions have raised over $215,000 for the music industry charity, which was established in 1989 to “improve lives through the power of music and the creative arts.”
This year’s auction also included white label pressings from The Beach Boys, Dire Straits, Genesis and Eric Clapton.
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” written by Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, was featured on their album A Night at the Opera. It hit #1 in the U.K. and was Queen’s first chart-topper. The song was rereleased in 1991 following Mercury’s death and returned to the #1 spot.
Queen is set to revisit A Night at the Opera with a set of vinyl reissues dropping Oct. 17. In addition, on Oct. 31 “Bohemian Rhapsody” will be released on transparent blue heavyweight 12-inch vinyl, as a 12-inch picture disc and as a blue cassette single.
The first and only Desert Trip festival kicked off at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, the same location where the yearly Coachella Festival is held.
Dubbed “Oldchella” by the public, the six-day event was split over two weekends and included a lineup of superstar classic rock acts like The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Who, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Pink Floyd‘s Roger Waters.
The Stones and Dylan headlined the first night of each weekend, with Young and McCartney playing the Saturdays, and The Who and Waters closing both weekends.
McCartney’s set during the second weekend featured two special guests: Rihanna, who joined him for their collaboration “FourFiveSeconds,” and Young, who joined McCartney for “A Day in the Life,” “Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?” and a cover of John Lennon‘s “Give Peace a Chance.”

The Rolling Stones’ ‘90s concert film, Rolling Stones – At The Max, is headed back to IMAX theaters. The movie was the first and only concert film shot with IMAX cameras. It was originally released in 1991.
The film features performances from the band’s 1990 Urban Jungle tour of Europe, which was in support of their 19thstudio album, Steel Wheels. It featured performances of such Stones classics as “Start Me Up,” “Honky Tonk Woman,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Paint It Black,” “Brown Sugar,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and more.
Rolling Stones – At The Max is set to return to IMAX theaters on Dec. 10. Tickets for the screenings go on sale Oct. 23.
Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ (ABC/Randy Holmes)
You can finally watch both versions of Foo Fighters‘ “Times Like These” video.
While two clips were filmed for the One by One single, only one was uploaded to the Foo Fighters’ YouTube page. Now, the Foos have officially uploaded the second one, dubbed the “U.S. version.”
The first video, which was already on YouTube, features Dave Grohl and company performing in front of an ever-changing psychedelic background. The second one shows Grohl alongside guitarist Chris Shiflett, bassist Nate Mendel and late drummer Taylor Hawkins rocking out under a bridge as people come up and dump different items in front of them, starting with TVs and a Game Boy Advance and ending with cars and an entire house.
In a Facebook post, the Foos share that they unearthed the “Times Like These” U.S. version video after someone pointed out that it wasn’t on YouTube.
“So after some digging, we found it, converted it to HD and it is now out,” the band says.
Foo Fighters are currently on tour in Asia. The trek follows a recent run of pop-up last-minute U.S. dates, which marked the Foos’ first with new drummer Ilan Rubin.

Rod Stewart playing halftime at the Super Bowl? He’s not interested.
Speaking to People, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and soccer fan says the idea of headlining the Super Bowl or World Cup holds no appeal for him because he’s already performed on the only stage that counts.
“I’ve done Glastonbury, so I’m happy,” he said, referring to the U.K.’s most prestigious festival. He performed there in 2002 and last summer.
In fact, Rod says he really doesn’t have any goals for the future. “There’s no bucket list,” he notes. “I’ve done it all.”
But that doesn’t mean he plans to retire. The 80-year-old rocker, who just announced a new batch of Las Vegas residency dates for 2026, said, “I still enjoy what I’m doing. I love it. You can tell: It’s written all over my face.”
And when he’s not performing, he’s in the studio. Rod reveals, “I’m supposed to be doing a country album, and I’m halfway through doing an original album.”
Rod’s last album of original music was 2021’s The Tears of Hercules.

Foreigner frontman Kelly Hansen will play his final show with the band on Saturday in Atlantic City, New Jersey. And it sounds like he’s not totally sure what he’ll do next.
“I’m trying not to use the word retirement. I don’t even know what that means,” he tells People. “I’m not looking for future work. I’m so fortunate to be able to make that choice.”
He adds, “Although I love what I do, I’ve been in this business nearly 50 years, and I put in my time.”
When it comes to his final show, Kelly says, “I want it to be joyous and I want it to be memorable and I want it to be fun.”
“I’ve been telling the audience that I’m taking mental snapshots because this year is different than the 20 years prior, because the 20 years prior were the blur of being in the thick of it,” he says. “Now I’m poking my head out of the forest, and I’m seeing the pasture ahead, and I’m not just fighting the trees every day. I’m seeing the sun, the pasture in front of me.”
And while Kelly’s life will certainly change once he comes off the road, he tells People he’s “not troubled by living a smaller life.”
“I mean, I’ve lived, my whole life has been loud music and bright lights and a lot of s***, and I spent a lot of my time trying to avoid f****** landmines, and I don’t want to have to do that,” he says. “I just want to live my life with my friends and my family and just dig it.”
Foreigner guitarist Luis Maldonado will take over frontman duties when Hansen leaves. A complete list of Foreigner dates can be found at Foreigneronline.com.
