Bruce Springsteen is the latest artist to throw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz.

The rocker revealed the news in a video posted to Instagram, sharing, “Friends, fans and the press have asked me who I’m supporting in this most important of elections, and with full knowledge that my opinion is no more or less important than those of any of my fellow citizens, here’s my answer.”

Springsteen called the upcoming election “one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history,” noting, “Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually and emotionally divided as it does at this moment. It doesn’t have to be this way.”

Springsteen called America the “most powerful nation on Earth … because of what she stands for, what she means, what she believes in,” listing off things like freedom, social justice, equal opportunity and the right to love who you want.

“These are the things that make America great,” he said.

He then discussed what he doesn’t like about former President Donald Trump, calling him “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime,” suggesting Trump doesn’t understand “what it means to be deeply American.”

Springsteen then listed all the things he likes about the Harris/Walz ticket, noting what they stand for is “the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”

Finally, Springsteen said that he respects everyone’s choice on who they decide to vote for, before adding, “But like you I’ve only got one vote, that’s one of the most precious possessions that I have. That’s why come Nov. 5, I’ll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

ABC

One of George Harrison’s early guitars is going up for sale in November as part of Julien’s Auctions’ Played, Worn & Torn auction.

The legendary Beatle’s Resonet Futurama, a Czechoslovakian-made electric guitar, is an axe he played during the early days of the band and, according to Julien’s, played “a crucial role in shaping The Beatles’ sound and music history.”

The guitar is currently on display at The Beatles Story Museum in Liverpool, England, and will move to New York for a public viewing. Following that it will head to The Music Hall of Fame in Nashville before it goes up for auction in Nashville Nov. 20-22.

“This is not just a chance to own the vintage guitar outright,” reads a description by Julien’s, “it’s an opportunity to connect with the origins of The Beatles, to hold in your hands an instrument that witnessed the band’s transformation from local hopefuls to global phenomenon.”

The guitar is estimated to sell for between $600,000 and $800,000.

The former NFL star shared a photo on the Instagram account for his New Heights podcast, showing him and the legendary Stevie Nicks in what appears to be a recording studio.

The Who is being immortalized with a set of stamps issued by the Royal Mail.

The collection celebrates the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s 60th anniversary and features 12 stamps made up of popular Who album covers, as well as group publicity shots and live performance photos.

Covers featured in the collection include 1965’s My Generation, 1969’s Tommy, 1972’s Who’s Next, 1973’s Quadrophenia, 1978’s Who Are You, 1981’s Face Dances, 2006’s Endless Wire and 2019’s WHO.

Live shots are taken from the band’s 1967 concert at the Marquee Club and from a 1973 performance at Kings Hall in Belle Vue, Manchester.

“Stamp! Stamp! Stamp! It’s what I’ve done on stage all my life, sometimes in the air,” The Who’s Pete Townshend shares. “At last my stamping, and that of my buddy Roger, has been honored properly, and will help letters, parcels and birthday cards travel through time and space, just as we have.”

Roger Daltrey adds, “The artwork on the album sleeves was almost as important to the success of the record as the music. It’s great to be reminded of them.”

The stamps are available starting Oct. 17 but can be preordered at royalmail.com.

On This Day, Oct. 3, 1949: Fleetwood Mac star Lindsey Buckingham was born

On This Day, Oct. 3, 1949: Fleetwood Mac star Lindsey Buckingham was born

On This Day, Oct. 3, 1949…

Lindsey Buckingham, former singer, lead guitarist and songwriter for Fleetwood Mac, was born in Palo Alto, California.

Before joining Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham and his then-girlfriend Stevie Nicks recorded together as Buckingham Nicks, releasing their debut album in September 1973.

In 1974, Mick Fleetwood invited Lindsey to join Fleetwood Mac, but he would only join if Stevie was with him. The addition of the pair led to huge commercial success for Fleetwood Mac, with the first album featuring the duo, 1975’s self-titled release, going to #1, and the follow-up, Rumours, also topping the chart and becoming the band’s bestselling album.

Buckingham is responsible for writing such Fleetwood Mac classics as “Go Your Own Way,” “Never Going Back Again,” “Tusk” and “Big Love.”

Buckingham was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Fleetwood Mac in 1998.

He left and rejoined Fleetwood Mac several times over the years, with his last departure coming in April 2018, when he says he was fired from the group over a disagreement about touring.

He has also released several solo albums, his last being 2021’s self-titled release.

It has not been announced whether or not Ozzy himself will perform. The Prince of Darkness hasn’t played a full live set since New Year’s Eve 2018 due to a variety of health issues, though he has performed songs here and there for various events in recent years.
