A cover of Sting’s classic song “Fragile” is used in the Netflix hit series Adolescence, and the rock star is thrilled at the attention it’s receiving.

“The reaction to the cover of my song, Fragile, in the new Netflix series Adolescence has been fantastic,” the former Police frontman shared on Instagram. “It’s always interesting for me to hear one of my songs through someone else’s lens. A great cover can reveal things about a song that I didn’t originally see and give a song a new life.”

The cover was recorded Emilia Holliday and the students of the Minsthorpe Community College Choir, who Sting calls “incredibly talented.” He adds, “Together they have created something beautiful.”

“Fragile” appeared on Sting’s sophomore solo album …Nothing Like The Sun, which was released in 1988. The song has been covered by several artists, and Sting himself rerecorded the tune in both Spanish and Portuguese for the 1988 EP Nada como el sol.

Interscope

Elton John scored his first top-10 album on the Billboard 200 54 years ago — and now he’s racked up his 22nd.

Who Believes in Angels?, his collaborative LP with Brandi Carlile, has debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200. It’s Elton’s second collaborative album to hit the top 10, following 2010’s The Union, which Elton made with the late Leon Russell. Meanwhile, it’s Brandi’s fourth top-10 album overall.

This is Elton’s second top-10 album of the 2020s, following his 2021 duets album, The Lockdown Sessions. He had four top 10s in the 2010s, one in the 2000s, two in the ’90s and 13 in the ’70s.

Elton is tied with Bruce Springsteen when it comes to top-10 albums — both artists have had 22. The only artists who’ve had more are MadonnaBob Dylan, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand and The Rolling Stones.

Who Believes in Angels? hit #1 in Elton’s native U.K., becoming his second #1 album in six months, following his best-of collection, Diamonds.

Neil Young and Joan Baez were among the artists who performed Sunday at Senator Bernie Sanders’ Fighting Oligarchy: Where Do We Go From Here rally at Los Angeles’ Gloria Molina Grand Park.

According to setlist.fm, Young performed the track “Rainbow of Colors,” off his album Colorado, which was the first time he’d played the song since 2019. Then he broke out his classic “Rockin’ in the Free World,” and was joined by Baez and Maggie Rogers, who was also one of the performers at the rally.

Baez treated the crowd to a five-song set that included “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around,” “There But for Fortune,” and John Lennon’s “Imagine,” as well as “America the Beautiful” and Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right,” for which she was joined by Rogers.

And Young, Baez and Rogers weren’t the only musicians Sanders got to rub elbows with this past weekend. He turned up at the Coachella Festival in Indio, California, making an appearance during Clairo‘s set, with Florida congressman Maxwell Frost, who is the youngest member of Congress.

Brian May made a surprise appearance at Coachella Friday, turning up during Benson Boone’s set to help him perform a cover of the Queen classic “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Footage from the festival shows May rising up from below the stage to perform the song’s first guitar solo from the top of a raised platform. May is then lowered back below the stage, but returns to join Boone’s side following the “mamma mia” portion of the song.

The appearance wasn’t actually a total surprise. May had teased it earlier in the day, sharing a picture of him and Boone on a jet together, writing, “Look who I bumped into – on the way to the fabled Palm Springs,” adding, “Maybe something will happen?!”

He posted another picture of the two cheesing for the camera and wrote, “Do we look happy ? !!! Gonna treasure this moment on the plane with @bensonboone- a truly golden 22 year old prodigy. I’m proud and happy to say we are now officially pals.”

May’s appearance comes seven months after he revealed he suffered a minor stroke that initially left him with no control over his left arm.

Boone will return to Coachella to play the festival’s second weekend on April 18. There’s no word on whether May will show up again.
