Sammy Hagar is giving fans a taste of his The Best of All Worlds residency with a new live album.

The rocker is set to release Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency on Oct. 10, capturing performances from his 2025 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

The album features 19 tracks with Sammy backed by an all-star band made up of Van Halen’s Michael Anthony, guitar great Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff and keyboardist/guitarist Rai Thistlethwayte.

As you’d imagine, the album includes performances of several songs from Hagar’s time with Van Halen, including the just-released “Summer Nights (Live),” which is now available via digital outlets.

“‘Summer Nights’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the 5150 record, on our very first day in the studio,” Hagar says. “Eddie played me that guitar riff and I just started singing ‘summer nights and my radio,’ and the rest of the lyrics just came out like a river of consciousness.”

“I don’t think there’s a better theme song for a beautiful summer night, so it had to be the first track this summer from the live album,” he adds.

Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency is available for preorder now.

Bruce Springsteen’s third studio album, Born to Run, is celebrating its 50th anniversary on Monday and to mark the occasion The Boss has released a song that didn’t make it on the album.

The New Jersey rocker has just released “Lonely Night in the Park” to digital services for the first time. The track was recorded during the Born to Run sessions at the Record Plant in New York, and was considered for the album, but ultimately was left off.

According to a post on Instagram, the song, which has spent “five decades in the vault,” can now be enjoyed “in full studio quality as it has never been heard before.”

Released Aug. 25, 1975, Born to Run became a breakthrough hit for Springsteen, propelling him to mainstream success. The album peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200, certified seven-times Platinum by the RIAA.

The Doors have dipped into their archives and shared a classic live concert with fans.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers just released Live at Bakersfield to digital services for the first time. It’s a recording of their Aug. 21, 1970, concert at the Bakersfield Civic Center, which, according to a post on Instagram, is “one of the most sought-after live shows of 1970.”

“For an audience member watching the concert unfold, it probably seemed like The Doors had rehearsed everything, but many of that night’s lyrical and musical twists and turns had never been discussed by the band, let alone rehearsed,” reads the post. “Odds are the band didn’t even have a set list.”

The concert, recorded on a two-track reel-to-reel recorder, features performances of songs like “Love Me Two Times,” “Roadhouse Blues” and “The End,” including a 13-minute version of “When the Music’s Over.”

The Doors Live At Bakersfield August 21, 1970 is available now via digital outlets.

It seems to be the end of an era. First, news came that Billy Joel‘s motorcycle shop in Oyster Bay, Long Island, would be closing down. Now a major exhibit about the Piano Man’s life and career that’s been running for two years is coming to an end.

Billy Joel – My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey has been on display at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame since November 2023. It includes rare memorabilia, videos, awards, recordings, instruments and photos, many donated from Billy’s personal collection. Even Billy was amazed by the exhibit: When he toured it ahead of its official opening, according to the museum, he kept asking, “Where did you get all this stuff?”

After drawing tens of thousands of visitors, the exhibit will wrap up Oct. 26. The museum’s chairman, Ernie Canadeo, tells Newsday, “It’s been two years, and since we are a full hall of fame … we felt, ‘Let’s end this.’” He added the museum will “retain a lot of items,” including the piano Billy used on his Face 2 Face tour with Elton John.

Another item that’s “probably staying,” according to Canadeo? An elementary school photo of Billy that shows a female classmate sitting behind him. “When Billy came to visit the exhibit, he looked at that photo, pointed to her and said, ‘Oh, that’s Virginia,'” says Canadeo. Billy was referring to the girl he famously sang about in his classic hit “Only the Good Die Young.”

So, if watching the Billy Joel HBO documentary has gotten you interested in doing a deep dive into his life, you can buy tickets online to see the exhibition before it closes.

The upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic has booked another film festival.

The American Film Institute has announced that Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is set to open the 39th edition of AFI Fest on Oct. 22 in Hollywood.

“AFI is the stage and the screens where the world’s stories come together in Hollywood,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI president and CEO. “To open with Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere honors the global impact of an American icon and the true artistry it takes to tell his tale.”

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, stars The Bear’s Jeremey Allen White as Springsteen and Succession’s Jeremy Strong as his manager Jon Landau. It follows Springsteen as he makes his 1982 solo album Nebraska.

“It’s a true honor to open AFI Fest with Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” says Cooper. “AFI has always championed bold, meaningful storytelling, and I’m grateful to be part of that tradition. While Bruce’s roots will forever be in New Jersey, Los Angeles played a profound role in shaping his artistic voice.”

AFI Fest runs from Oct. 22 to Oct. 26. Passes are on sale now, with individual tickets going on sale Oct. 6.

This is the second film festival that will screen the Springsteen film. It will also be the New York Film Festival’s Spotlight Gala selection, premiering Sept. 28.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, which also stars Stephen GrahamPaul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young and Gaby Hoffmann, opens Oct. 24.
