Billy Idol has been eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 2007, but so far hasn’t even been nominated for induction. Well, rocker Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t think that’s right.

Ozzy is set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for a second time on Oct. 19. He was inducted in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath and now he’s getting in as a solo artist.

Idol and his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens are just two of the acts set celebrate Ozzy at the Hall of Fame induction, and Ozzy tells Rolling Stone he thinks Idol deserves to be in the Rock Hall, as well.

“Billy Idol is a rock icon,” Osbourne shares. “His music is timeless. Billy Idol should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

Folks can certainly argue that Idol has a big enough rock resume to get him in, thanks to his huge success in the ’80s. His 1982 self-titled debut album went Gold thanks to songs like “Dancing with Myself” and “White Wedding,” while the follow-up, Rebel Yell, peaked at #6 on the Billboard Album chart and has been certified double Platinum, with hits like the title track, “Eyes Without A Face” and “Flesh for Fantasy.”

Idol previously told Spin that he’d love to get into the Rock Hall.

“It would be incredible,” he said. “It’s a big thank you to the fans in lots of ways. They really believed and hung in through thick and thin.”

The 2024 induction ceremony, taking place at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, will stream live on Disney+ Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. ET. On Jan. 1, ABC will air the special 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, featuring performance highlights.

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour on whether he’d play with Roger Waters again: “Absolutely not”

Pink Floyd fans holding out hope that one day David Gilmour and Roger Waters would put away their differences and perform together again are bound to be disappointed.

The pair have been at odds for years, but their relationship turned particularly rocky last year when Gilmour’s wife and co-writer Polly Samson tweeted that Waters was a “Putin apologist,” amongst other things, and Gilmour backed her up, tweeting, “Every word demonstrably true.”

In a new interview with The Guardian, Gilmour put to rest any thought of ever playing with Waters again. When asked by the paper if that was even a possibility, Gilmour responded, “absolutely not,” citing Waters’ very outspoken political views.

“I tend to steer clear of people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like Putin and Maduro [president of Venezuela],” he said. “Nothing would make me share a stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is OK.”

Gilmour also noted that one member of Pink Floyd he’d love to have a chance to perform with again is their late keyboardist Richard Wright, calling him “one of the gentlest and must musically gifted people I’ve ever known.”

Gilmour is currently on his Luck and Strange tour. He kicks off a six-night stand at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Oct. 9. A complete list of dates can be found at davidgilmour.com.

Bruce Springsteen endorses Kamala Harris & Tim Walz

Bruce Springsteen is the latest artist to throw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz.

The rocker revealed the news in a video posted to Instagram, sharing, “Friends, fans and the press have asked me who I’m supporting in this most important of elections, and with full knowledge that my opinion is no more or less important than those of any of my fellow citizens, here’s my answer.”

Springsteen called the upcoming election “one of the most consequential elections in our nation’s history,” noting, “Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually and emotionally divided as it does at this moment. It doesn’t have to be this way.”

Springsteen called America the “most powerful nation on Earth … because of what she stands for, what she means, what she believes in,” listing off things like freedom, social justice, equal opportunity and the right to love who you want.

“These are the things that make America great,” he said.

He then discussed what he doesn’t like about former President Donald Trump, calling him “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime,” suggesting Trump doesn’t understand “what it means to be deeply American.”

Springsteen then listed all the things he likes about the Harris/Walz ticket, noting what they stand for is “the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”

Finally, Springsteen said that he respects everyone’s choice on who they decide to vote for, before adding, “But like you I’ve only got one vote, that’s one of the most precious possessions that I have. That’s why come Nov. 5, I’ll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
