Two one-of-a-kind surfboards and a guitar, all autographed by Bruce Springsteen, are part of a newly launched sweepstakes to raise money for a variety of causes.

The Fandiem auction is part of a special collaboration with Sea.Hear.Now, the Asbury Park, New Jersey, festival that The Boss headlined on Sept. 15.

The more detailed surfboard up for auction is the One of One surfboard, which features 75 Springsteen photos taken by photographer and Sea.Hear.Now co-founder Danny Clinch. The other is a unique, modern 1960s Challenger Eastern surfboard. Both were shaped by world renowned surfboard shaper Carl “Tinker” West. In addition to Springsteen they’re also signed by Clinch, West and Charles Mencel of Mencel Surfboards. They are expected to sell for between $20,000 and $25,000.

Also up for auction is a one-of-a-kind guitar, dubbed The Boardwalk Beauty Model, which is also signed by Springsteen. It features unique materials, including spalted maple to symbolize Asbury Park’s boardwalk. It is also decorated with Clinch photos, as well as holographic images of the late E Street Band members Clarence Clemons and Danny Federici, and Springsteen’s late friend and longtime assistant Terry McGovern. It is estimated to sell for between $25,000 and $30,000.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit six Asbury Park area charities: Trinity Center for Community, Inspire + Life, Mercy Center NJ, The Cazzeek Brothers, Project R.E.A.L. and Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County, NJ.

The auction is set to run until Oct. 1. More info can be found at fandiem.com.

Phil Collins’ daughter Lily Collins didn’t know Genesis songs were real

Phil Collins’ daughter actress Lily Collins recently revealed that it wasn’t until she was an adult that she realized some Genesis songs were real.

The confession came during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Andy Cohen first asked the Emily in Paris star to name her favorite Phil Collins tune, to which she replied, “Probably ‘In the Air Tonight,’” although she noted, “There’s too many.”

But when asked what her favorite Genesis tune was, she couldn’t pick, and it could be because she didn’t realize until she was older that some of the tunes actually existed.

“You know the funny thing is that I have these memories as a kid of songs that I don’t know if they’re actually real. Because they were, like, in my head, as I was maybe in the womb,” she said. “But then when I went to the first Genesis concert that I actually remembered as an adult, there were songs that came on that I went, ‘That’s a real song?! I thought that was just a melody in my head.’”

She added, “It was really weird.”

Megadeth responds to Peter Frampton’s claims they were responsible for show cancellation

Disney/Jenny Anderson

Megadeth has responded to claims made by Peter Frampton that they were partially to blame for him having to cancel a recent show in Virginia.

During his concert in Philadelphia on Sept. 19, Frampton opened up about his decision to cancel his Sept. 17 concert at Virginia Credit Union Live in Richmond, noting it was partially due to weather and partially due some structural damage to the stage, which he said happened during Megadeth’s soundcheck a few days before.

The band is now clearing up what they say is “misinformation” about what happened.

Megadeth says in a statement they didn’t even get a chance to soundcheck at the venue, noting their “rigger was in the venue’s steel grid system above the stage getting ready to hang the lights when he noticed there was damage to the venue’s grid.”

The rigger than pointed out the problem to the venue, and they “determined that it was unsafe” to proceed with the band’s production, or to even put them onstage, so the show was canceled.

“It seems Frampton was misinformed about our show being canceled,” says Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine. “The decision was purely based on safety. It’s disappointing when someone you admire talks out their a** about you.”

So far Frampton hasn’t responded to Megadeth’s statement.

Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, doesn’t care what you think about their 44-year age difference.

“I don’t think about it,” the 37-year-old former ballerina told The Sunday Times. “Everyone’s going to have their opinion. If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem and you’re going to analyze it.”

Hamrick started dating the now-81-year-old Rolling Stones frontman in 2014, and they welcomed their son, Deveraux, in 2016.

“I put the blinders on,” she says, regarding opinions about her relationship. “Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. OK, they can mind their own business.”

Green Day gets commemorative plaque on a wall outside 7-Eleven

In their song “Jesus of Suburbia,” Green Day describes the parking lot of a 7-Eleven as “the center of the Earth.” Now the band has received an official plaque in their honor on a wall outside a 7-Eleven in Pinole, California, where Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt attended high school.

The Mercury News reports that on Sept. 22, Armstrong, Dirnt and Tré Cool spray-painted that each of them “was here” on said wall. It was part of a ceremony in which Pinole Mayor Maureen Toms presented the band with an honorary key to the city, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the release of their album American Idiot

As for the location of the ceremony, 7-Eleven has been selling an exclusive Anniversary Blend of Green Day’s Punk Bunny Coffee brand.

Hundreds of fans gathered to watch Green Day being honored, and afterward the band signed autographs for fans, many of whom had attended the band’s nearby concert in San Francisco on Sept. 20. Armstrong told the crowd that despite attending high school nearby, he cut class all the time and never graduated. However, he acknowledged the role that Pinole played in the band’s history.

“There were a lot of great bands … just a lot of music,” said Armstrong. “We felt like we had a home there.”

Dirnt added, “Great things can come from anywhere, can come from your mind, from your bedroom, from your friend’s house. Just believe in yourself.”

Journey’s current frontman, Arnel Pineda, is responding to backlash over his performance at the recent Rock in Rio festival and has even offered to leave the band.

In a post on social media, Pineda commented on a recent Facebook post that had video that seemed to show him struggling with his vocals at the recent Rock in Rio festival.

Noting that he was aware of the video, Pineda shared, “[N]o one more than me in this world feels so devastated about this… its really amazing how 1 thousand right things you have done will be forgotten just cause of THIS..and of all the places , its in Rock In Rio…”

He added that “mentally and emotionally, ive suffered already, and im still sufferring..but i’ll be ok..”

Pineda then decided to poll fans as to whether he should continue with the group.

“i am offering you a chance now ( especially those who’s hated me and never liked me from the very beginning) to simply text GO or STAY right here,” he wrote, “and if GO reaches 1million… im stepping out for good..are you game folks?”

One person who doesn’t want Pineda to go is his bandmate Neal Schon. Responding to a Facebook post about Pineda’s statements, Schon commented, “Arnel dont listen to these blogs. They are all bought You’ve kicked a**!”

And in a post on his own Facebook page, with video from the concert, Schon wrote, “All this absolute garbage fabricated bulls*** about [Arnel]. Does this look like nobody had a good time? I’m asking you. All fabricated, owned and bought blogs, bulls***.” He also seemed to blame the rock band Avenged Sevenfold for the problems they had with their sound.

Journey is set to bring their tour to Japan in October. All dates can be found at journeymusic.com.
