Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder is ready to share new music with fans.

The rocker has just signed with Frontiers Music Srl, with plans to release a new solo album later this year.

“So thrilled to be joining the Frontiers family and to finally share this new record with the world!” Felder shares. “This music means everything to me, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

“Brilliant songwriting, guitar mastery, and sweet vocals. Don Felder is truly rock royalty, and he has reached new heights on his new upcoming record,” Tom Lipsky, head of A&R of North America for Frontiers Label Group, adds. “We are confident fans will love the music, especially as Don cranks it up coast to coast during the Brotherhood Of Rock tour this year with Styx and Kevin Cronin.”

Felder released his last solo album, American Rock ‘n’ Roll, in 2019. It featured such special guests as Slash, Joe Satriani, Mick Fleetwood, Sammy Hagar and Chad Smith.

Felder has a series solo shows booked for March and April. As mentioned, he will then join Styx and REO Speedwagon‘s Kevin Cronin on their upcoming Brotherhood of Rock tour, which kicks off May 28 in Greenville, South Carolina. A complete list of dates can be found at donfelder.com.

Keith Richards is set to be honored by the state of Connecticut.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced that The Rolling Stones guitarist will be honored as the first recipient of the Connecticut Governor’s Award of Excellence; he is being recognized for his “deep commitment to supporting the local community.”

The award is described as “a prestigious new honor celebrating Connecticut residents who epitomize the state’s core values of creativity, resourcefulness, passion, dynamism, and generosity.”

“Connecticut has long been home to some of the world’s most innovative minds, boldest artists, and most generous hearts,” Lamont said. “This award was created to honor those whose creativity, resourcefulness, and passion have made a lasting impact on our state and beyond.”

He adds, “Keith Richards is the epitome of these values — not only as one of the most influential musicians of all time but as a dedicated supporter of the arts, education, and community causes right here in Connecticut.”

Richards, a Connecticut resident since 1985, will be presented with his honor, which comes with a custom medallion and a key to the state, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET at The Westport Library.

“When you are growing up there are two institutional places that affect you most powerfully: the church, which belongs to God, and the public library, which belongs to you,” Richards said. “The public library is the great equalizer.”

Lenny Kravitz is featured in a new campaign for YSL Beauty’s fragrance Y Le Parfum.

Lenny is seen in the clip walking onstage, shirtless of course, then it cuts to a snake slithering near his neck, before he straps on a guitar and takes the stage in front of a group of fans.

“Your path to success begins when you embrace your why,” Lenny says in the clip. “When you master your passion and dare to show why.”

The brand teases the scent in an Instagram post by asking, “What happens when fresh midnight pine accord meets sensual fir balsam?”

This isn’t the first time Lenny has appeared in a campaign for YSL Beauty. In fact, he’s been the global ambassador for its fragrance since 2020.

Blondie’s Debbie Harry is one of the many artists paying tribute to the late David Johansen, lead singer and last surviving original member of the proto-glam-punk band New York Dolls, who passed away Friday at 75.

“One of my favorite things was to go see the New York Dolls. They were so exciting to watch. They were a real rock band,” Harry wrote, noting how “they were so New York.”

“They were straight but they dressed in drag, at a time when the cops were still raiding gay bars. They were ragged and raunchy and uninhibited, strutting, swaggering about in their leatherette, lipstick, and high heels,” she added. “The Dolls influenced countless bands, including 70’s [sic] punk bands, glam metal bands, and alternative rock bands. Thank you for your service, David. You will be missed dearly… and never forgotten.”

Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready wrote that the New York Dolls “were so ahead of their time” and mentioned how his early band Shadow was influenced by them.

“They were very important to me and my friends in the early 80’s [sic] Seattle music scene,” he shared. “They seemed free and dangerous while playing loud rock and roll.” He called Johansen “a singer with great – attitude.” McCready ended the post with, “Rest in Glam, David Johansen,” and suggested a few songs people should check out.

Other artists paying tribute to Johansen include KISSPaul Stanley, Billy Idol, Idol’s guitarist Steve Stevens, Stevie Van Zandt, Def Leppard‘s Joe Elliott and Duran Duran.

On This Day, March 3, 2009…

U2 released their 12th studio album No Line on the Horizon in North America.

The album was released five years after their previous release, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, which up until then, marked the longest break between albums for the band.

To promote the record, U2 performed for five consecutive nights on The Late Show with David Letterman. It was the first time ever an artist had played five straight shows on the late night talker.

No Line on the Horizon, which contained the singles “Get On Your Boots,” “Magnificent” and “I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight,” peaked at #1 in the U.S, and in several other countries.
