While The Who may have said farewell to the U.S. with their 2025 tour, frontman Roger Daltrey isn’t giving up the road just yet.
The 82-year-old Daltrey just announced a run of solo U.S. shows — dubbed A Great Night Out — his first solo U.S. dates since his 2024 Semi-Acoustic summer tour.
“Well it’s one more for the road,” says Daltrey. “After finishing The Who’s final tour of the U.S., it’s time for me as a solo artist to possibly do the same.”
“With my present [lineup] of nine musicians, I have this opportunity to see your beautiful country and enjoy the hospitality you have shown me over so many years,” he adds. “I’ll be off the backing tracks and always searching for different soundscapes to present the songs. It’s a lot of fun and gives me the chance to have a Great Night Out.”
The trek begins Aug. 23 in Mesa, Arizona, and includes three nights in Las Vegas at the Encore Theater, plus shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, New York’s Town Hall and more, before wrapping Sept. 29 in Medford, Massachusetts.
Ticket presales run from Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time to Thursday at 11:59 p.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

The winner of American Idol season 24 is Hannah Harper.
Mötley Crüe is set to hit the road this summer on The Return of the Carnival of Sins tour, celebrating both the band’s 45th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of their 2005-06 Carnival of Sins tour. The new leg will make stops in San Diego, Phoenix, Seattle, Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Las Vegas and more, before wrapping with what’s being called “a hometown finale show” in San Francisco on Nov. 28.

Jonathan Cain adds, “These songs continue to connect with people in such a meaningful way. We’re grateful for the fans who’ve support[ed] this music across generations.”

Paul McCartney’s ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’ (MPL/Capitol Records)
Paul McCartney is getting ready to release his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, which was produced by Andrew Watt, the producer behind The Rolling Stones’ 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, and their upcoming release, Foreign Tongues.
Dungeon Lane has McCartney in a reflective mood, looking back on his life. But when it came to the sound of the album, McCartney didn’t want to be inspired by the past.
“If you’re working with the Stones, they’ve got the Stones sound. It’s kind of the opposite with me – we’re trying not to do that,” McCartney says. “The way we approached this album was: We’ve done that before. Let’s do it different.”
McCartney and Watt worked on the album for four years, despite McCartney having an interesting first impression of the producer.
“I came away from the first session thinking, well, I like him, but he’s a bit pushy,” McCartney tells the mag. “But pushy’s not a bad thing in a producer,” he added. “It’s just enthusiasm from someone who wants to keep making this record. It’s infectious.”
The Boys of Dungeon Lane, McCartney’s first solo record since 2020’s McCartney III, will be released May 29. Ahead of the release, McCartney will be the musical guest on the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 16.

Elton John has had many ups and downs in his life, and by now he’s learned to roll with the punches. For example, he says the issues he’s been having with his eyesight have forced him to adopt a completely different way of making albums.
Elton was awarded the Glenn Gould Prize, which is given to a living artist whose “unique lifetime achievement contribution has enriched the human condition,” in Toronto on Saturday.
According to the Toronto Sun, Elton told the crowd at the ceremony, “Music is about learning and learning all the time. I’ve had eye trouble recently and I’ve always made my music by looking at lyrics.”
Elton, who lost the sight in his right eye due to an infection and has compromised vision in his left eye, was likely referring to the fact that he’s no longer able to read the lyrics that his longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin gives him. In the past he’s looked at Bernie’s lyrics first, then written songs around them.
But, Elton went on to say, “What my eye has given [me] is a challenge, completely reversing how I write. Writing melodies first, the lyrics come second. I’ve never done that and I’ve just done that. I’ve just done an album.”
No word yet on when the album is coming out, but when it does, it’ll be the follow-up to his Grammy-nominated 2025 joint project with Brandi Carlile, Who Believes in Angels?
During his speech, Elton also noted that his husband, David Furnish, is from Toronto. “It’s so nice to be in Canada … to be in a country that has common sense.” He added, “I am a Canadian and I can tell you, it’s not the 51st f****** state!”

With the announcement of the new The Rolling Stones album Foreign Tongues, fans, of course, now want to know if they can expect to hear news of a tour next. According to Keith Richards, that won’t be happening this year.
When asked by The Associated Press if The Stones were going to hit the road in support of the album, Richards replied, “Oh, I mean we can talk next year.” He added, “I mean, possibly, you know, I mean, at the moment, we’re just sort of saying we finished the record, let’s do this.”
He added that the band is “sort of basically considering what to do after” the release. But regarding a tour, he noted, “Not this year anyway.”
Mick Jagger said he “would love to tour the album,” adding, “I absolutely would love to, so I hope to do it as soon as that’s possible.”
Foreign Tongues, the follow-up to The Rolling Stones’ 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, will be released July 10.

Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry has landed a new acting gig. Deadline reports that Harry is set to play Pamela Anderson’s mother in the new comedy Maitreya.
The film centers around Anderson’s title character, who’s described as “a rising star in the New Age Healing community.” After finding out her father is dying, she decides to bring her whole family with her to a conference in India to “put her New Age healing theories to the test.”
The film is being directed by Portlandia co-creator Jonathan Krisel.
This certainly isn’t the first time Harry has flexed her acting chops. She previously appeared in such films as 1983’s Videodrome, 1988’s Hairspray, 1997’s Cop Land and 2008’s Elegy.
Harry recently made a surprise appearance on the May 2 episode of Saturday Night Live, where she introduced host and musical guest Olivia Rodrigo’s performance of the song “drop dead.”
As for Blondie, the band is expected to release a new album, High Noon, this year, although they have yet to reveal an exact release date.
