Queen’s Brian May has given fans a preview of the planned reissue of the band’s sophomore album, Queen II.

In a new video posted to Instagram, May gives fans a peek inside Abbey Road Studios, where he’s working on the project. He shared what he called a “work-in-progress Dolby Atmos (surround) rebuild of PROCESSION,” which is the album’s opening track.

“I’m inviting you in because I want you to be as excited as I am when this becomes available for streaming very soon, and when the Dolby Atmos Blue-Ray (sic) comes out !!!” May writes. “It will sound about 50 times better than this!”

He notes that once they are finished with the Dolby upgrade, listeners “will be effectively sitting inside the guitar ‘orchestra,'” adding it will be “QUEEN II – like you never heard it before.”

May previously teased the upcoming Queen II box set with a video on Instagram noting that he was about to film an unboxing video for what he called the “rebuild” of the album. May first hinted that he was working on the project back in August, posting a video of him tinkering in the studio with the song “Funny How Love Is.”

The Queen II reissue follows the band’s June 2025 reissue of their self-titled debut album, which featured a remixed and remastered version of the album, which they renamed Queen I. It included the album on Dolby Atmos for the first time, along with plenty of bonus material.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced that John Fogerty will be the 2026 recipient of the Johnny Mercer Award, which is the organization’s highest honor.

The Johnny Mercer Award honors an already inducted member of the Hall of Fame “whose body of work is of such high quality and impact that it upholds the gold standard set by the legendary Johnny Mercer.”

Fogerty, who was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005, is known for writing such Creedence Clearwater Revival classics as “Proud Mary,” “Born on the Bayou,” “Fortunate Son,” “Bad Moon Rising” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain,” as well as solo singles like “Centerfield” and “Old Man Down The Road.”

“The first time I heard Creedence Clearwater Revival, I was a mere high schooler. It was also the first time I heard John Fogerty’s voice, one of the most distinctive ever,” SHOF Chairman Nile Rodgers said in a statement. “To this day I’ve never heard anyone else sound like him. His unique songwriting ability is another quality. He’s one of those rare talents who is unmistakably himself.”

He adds, “His style of composition is rock and roll mastery,” noting, “He’s done what I believe all great songwriters do. He makes us feel. He deserves this award as much as anyone who’s ever received it, or will receive it, in the future.”

Previous Johnny Mercer Award recipients include Van Morrison, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie and Carole King.

Fogerty will receive the award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala on June 11 in New York City.

John Mellencamp has thrown his support behind Bad Bunny following the Latin superstar’s Super Bowl halftime show.

During his appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher Friday, John talked about how he was forced to change his name to John Cougar at the start of his career and cracked a joke about Bad Bunny’s name.

Noting that the critics thought John Cougar was a “cornball” name, he added, “You know, like Bad Bunny.”

“It’s kind of a corny name, I mean I don’t have anything against the guy, but it is a funny name,” he said.

He later proved he has nothing against Bad Bunny following his halftime show, when he praised the performance in a post on Instagram.

“I don’t know what Bad Bunny is saying, however I do know he is standing up for Puerto Rico and I am standing up for him,”  Mellencamp wrote. “His halftime show was great.”

John Mellencamp recently announced dates for Dancing Words Tour — The Greatest Hits, which kicks off July 10 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and wraps Aug. 12 in Mountain View, California. A complete list of dates can be found at Mellencamp.com.

Don Henley says 2026 ‘will probably be it’ for the Eagles

Don Henley says 2026 ‘will probably be it’ for the Eagles

The Eagles have several shows booked for 2026, but time may be running out to see them live. During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Don Henley indicated that this year will be the last for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group.

“You know, I think this year will probably be it,” he said. “And I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end. And that will be fine too.”

When asked again if 2026 was truly the end of the Eagles, he replied, “I think so, yeah. And I’m OK with that.”

And while Henley said he often has to psych himself up to play the same songs he’s played for 50 years every night, he noted there’s a good reason he does it.

“You know it’s not about us, it’s about what (the songs) mean to the people we’re playing them for and therefore you have to play them every night with your heart in it, and you do it because of those people out there,” he said. “What makes us happy is that we make other people happy. We say that music is medicine and people need some medicine right now.”

Eagles return to the Sphere Las Vegas on Feb. 20, with shows booked through March 28. They will also play New Orleans Jazz Fest on May 2. A complete list of dates can be found at Eagles.com.
