Columbia RecordsJeff Lynne’s ELO, the relaunched version of Electric Light Orchestra, released their latest studio album, From Out of Nowhere, on Friday. The 10-track record is a follow-up to ELO’s 2015 comeback album, Alone in the Universe, which was the band’s first collection of new original tunes in 14 years.

Last week, ELO released an official video for one of the new tracks, “Time of Our Life,” which celebrates the huge 2017 concert the band played at London’s Wembley Stadium that was recorded for the live record and concert film Wembley or Bust. The clip includes footage from the show, and focuses on the excited fans enjoying the event.

Lynne tells Billboard that he was inspired to write the tune by watching the video of the concert.

“I think the way they captured the audience, it was these little vignettes,” he explains. “They zoom into certain people in the audience who were having the best time of their life — kissing and looking at each other when different songs come on…I thought it was the nicest atmosphere I’ve seen.”

As with Alone in the Universe, Lynne played nearly all the instruments — including guitars, bass, piano, drums, keyboards and vibes — on From Out of Nowhere, and also handled all of the vocals. One exception is a piano solo that longtime ELO keyboardist Richard Tandy played on one the track “One More Time.”

Meanwhile, ELO fans can be content in the knowledge that Lynne has no intention of stopping making new music.

“I just love making music so it’s what I love to do best of all,” says the 71-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. “So I’ll just keep at it and try and come up with the best one ever one of these days.”
