A new series of high-quality prints featuring Jimi Hendrix‘s image or related to the late guitar legend was recently made available for purchase.
The Jimi Hendrix Collection features reproductions of a variety of famous photos of Hendrix, as well as artwork that he created, album covers and handwritten lyrics.
The collection was created as part of a partnership between Experience Hendrix, the family-run company that manages Jimi’s music and image, and Strax Technologies Inc., an innovative company that focuses on digital art and augmented reality.
“Jimi’s versatility and array of artistic talent was part of what made him so amazing,” says Janie Hendrix, Experience Hendrix’s CEO and president. “His gift was so enormous that it expanded into a surprising range of art forms. Together with StraxArt, we have produced a beautiful collection that represents the many dimensions of Jimi’s artistry.”
The prints available include photos of Hendrix performing at Woodstock, London’s Royal Albert Hall and the 1969 Northern California Folk-Rock Festival; the covers of the Axis: Bold as Love, Electric Ladyland and Band of Gypsys albums; handwritten lyrics to the songs “Machine Gun” and “Valleys of Neptune”; and watercolor paintings created by Jimi depicting a mountainous landscape and an abstract floral design.
