Credit: Deborah AndersonFounding Yes frontman Jon Anderson has scheduled a summer U.S. tour leg to support his recently released collaborative album, 1000 Hands.

The new trek, which follows a spring stateside outing, kicks off July 24 at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York, and is mapped out through a September 1 concert in Montclair, California. Anderson is also hosting a special fan experience at Levon Helm Studios, which runs from July 22 to July 24.

“I can’t wait to be back on the road with this band,” says Anderson. “As we did with the first leg of the tour, we’re going to do a lot of Yes music and some songs I haven’t sung in a while, and we’ll be doing new songs from 1000 Hands as well.”

1000 Hands was released in the U.S. in March, and will be made available worldwide this fall. As previously reported, Jon started the project nearly 30 years ago, but shelved the initial recordings for many years. He finally completed the album with the help of producer Michael Franklin and a variety of guest artists.

Among the well-known musicians who contributed 1000 Hands are Yes guitarist Steve Howe, Jethro Tull‘s Ian Anderson, Deep Purple‘s Steve Morse, Rick Derringer, Journey‘s Jonathan Cain, and the Tower of Power Horns, as well as jazz legends Jean-Luc Ponty, Billy Cobham and Chick Corea.

“That’s where the title 1000 Hands comes from, all of the brilliant musicians who played a part in making the record,” Anderson explains. “Michael acted like something of a casting director, bringing so many great players.”

Anderson adds that he thinks 1000 Hands is “one of the best things I’ve ever done.” You can order the album now at JonAnderson1000Hands.com.
