Eddie Vedder loses voice, Pearl Jam postpones tonight's London concert

ABC/Craig SjodinPearl Jam has been forced to postpone tonight’s show at London’s O2 arena, but it’s for a very good reason: Frontman Eddie Vedder can’t sing.

An announcement from the band reads, “Eddie Vedder has completely lost his voice. He is on vocal rest for the next few days in an effort to heal and perform the remainder of the tour dates.  It’s the first time ever having to postpone a show for this reason. Ed and the band are [devastated] thinking of all the folks who have traveled and made plans.”

“Sending their biggest apologies out to everyone,” the statement continues. “And huge gratitude for all the continued support.”

The announcement goes on to say that the band is working on rescheduling the date for mid-July, and tickets for tonight’s show will be transferable to that date.

Pearl Jam’s European tour is expected to resume Friday, June 22 in Milan, Italy.
