Smashing Pumpkins add dates to Shiny and Oh So Bright tour; Metric to open

Credit: Olivia BeeSmashing Pumpkins have added a trio of Canadian tour dates to their Shiny and Oh So Bright tour: August 9 in London, Ontario; September 8 in Calgary, Alberta; and September 9 in Edmonton, Alberta. Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, May 14, at 10 a.m. local time via SmashingPumpkins.com.

In more Canadian-related news, The Pumpkins have announced that Toronto rockers Metric will be opening for them for select dates on the tour.

The Shiny and Oh So Bright tour begins July 12 in Glendale, Arizona. It’s the first live Pumpkins run in nearly 20 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha. As previously reported, original bassist D’arcy Wretzky isn’t involved in the reunion.
