During his lifetime, Kurt Cobain designed the Fender Jag-Stang, a hybrid of the Fender Jaguar and Mustang electric guitars. Now, a prototype for the guitar is being offered for sale via Julien’s Auctions.
The “fiesta red,” left-handed guitar is one of two prototypes Fender built for Cobain. According to a description of the guitar, it was being packaged to be shipped to Cobain when he died in 1994.
Along with the guitar, the auction includes a drawing of Cobain’s design, annotated by the late Nirvana frontman himself. For more info, visit JuliensLive.com.
In related news, Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain has shared another preview of her first original song, which she first teased the night before the 24th anniversary of her father’s death. When asked in the Instagram post’s comments whether she plans to release the full song, Frances replied, “Oh yes.”
